Why did I do it? – My adventure with Windows 7

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

3 days ago there was a knock at the door. I looked through the gate of my front door and saw to my surprise my old love. She had some work done to her I could tell. She looked good, a little too good. I opened the door. I knew I had to maintain my cool and not let her see that I noticed her sleek new look. “Hey there” I said.

Bionic “Loading Screen” Commando for the XBox 360

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

UPDATE:

Ok so I think I gave this game a bad wrap. I just beat it and well… even though the loading screens suck (and there is something odd about a game that loads FASTER from the disc than the hard drive) and the first 2/3 of the game was repetitive and not very challenging at all… oh man… the last 1/3 ROCKED! Rocked enough to make the first 2/3 feel like a really long training mission just so you would have a good time with the last part. For some reason (SPOILER ALERT) after you make it to The Mohole boss battle and some really great large level designs where you are fighting people from all directions on this oil rig waiting to get evacuated, you finally get to know the point of the game. You’ve been played like a fiddle by your old pal Joe who has been using you and the military to get this hidden power source, you have to to go whoop his ass. A-Whoopin is what happens too. (SPOLIERS DONE mostly) You get to do things in the game like use your bionic arm to steer large vehicles and do mid air acrobatics and a slew of other things that you really should have been able to do from the get go. It feels as though they saved the best for last JUST A BIT TOO MUCH. But it is fun. The boss battles become a lot more interesting and the levels are just inspired. Sadly I do hate the very odd storytelling Capcom does. They never seem to do their characters justice. Randomly you’ll be introduced to characters that are in the game for LITERALLY 3 minutes of a cut scene and have nothing to do with ANYTHING. They seem to do this on purpose. I remember in Dead Rising the same feeling of “What the f*#k?” Anyways… it’s worth playing. I take back half my nay saying.

Mario Kart Wii. I loves you.

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

This wont be a long love letter. But let me say, THIS GAME ROCKS! I haven’t sat down at a Wii game and had a really good time since Galaxy (I’m looking at you Smash Bros.). I’m not sure if there was a different development team on Kart than Smash Bros. but everything that sucked and didn’t work right about online play is perfect in Kart. Graphics and sound aren’t impressive. Level Design is great. Not only are the new tracks really fun but they (as always) have the old school favorites. I wonder if there will be any DS integration in the future. Seems like they are poised to complement each other.
